Recipient’s Biographical Stanley, born in St. Paul, MN in 1930 enlisted in the United States Army at the age of 18 in his hometown of Redwing, MN. He was sent to Fort Knox, KY for basic training. When he graduated from basic – he was sent to clerical school in Ft. Lee, Virginia. After he finished clerical school he was stationed at Governor’s Island, New York where he worked as an administration specialist. In 1952 – he was shipped overseas to Korea and was stationed there for 9 months before he was transferred to Ft. Sill, OK and was there for three years. He was then sent to Ft. Bliss, Texas for Surface to Surface Missile Training. After completion of this training – he was sent to Germany and was there for almost three and a half years. He was then transferred back to Ft. Bliss where he attended Surface to Air Missile Training. Upon graduation – he was stationed with an Air Missile Batillion in St. Paul, MN until he retired after 20 years of service in the United States Army.
