Recipient’s Biographical Information Born in Massachusetts. Raised in Los Angeles and Massachusetts. Was “airport kid” during teens at Van Nuys airport in Los Angeles (washed airplanes and swept hangars for flight time). During college, became a commercial pilot (glider) and sailplane flight instructor (CFIG). While on active duty, got my private, commercial (ASEL) and instrument. Was not an AF pilot (bad eyes). Founding member of the Ramstein AB (Germany) Aero Club. After retirement, was computer professional, desktop publisher, software tester, and professional religious staffer for the Catholic church. Currently semi-retired. Not an active pilot (lost medical due to diabetes), but am president of a local radio control aircraft club.

Highlights of Military Service USAF Services Officer. (On base retail and people support services). Ran largest commissary in Europe as Commissary Officer. Ran all dining halls as Food Services Officer. Became Chief of Services, in charge of dorms, food service, housing supply, mortuary affairs, honor guard, and liaison with AAFES (BX) and Commissary. Won Services Officer of the Year. Stationed in the US (Myrtle Beach and San Antonio (twice), England, Germany (twice) and Korea. Retired at Army and Air Force Exchange headquarters as their Mac computer guru.
