Wil Marshall, age 89 served in the Navy from 1949 till 1950. He was a Naval aviation cadet and served during the Korean War.
Wil was also a civilian pilot and his most memorable experience was a flight he was giving to three of his 5th grade pupils. He experienced severe vibration when the engine malfunctioned and he had to shut down the engine. He was able to reach a small private airstrip, but he had to use a patch of tall shrubs to help get the plane stopped.
The only injury was a slightly bloody nose on one of his students!
Wil did most of the flying on his Dream Flight today. Just like riding a bicycle! He did a great job!
We appreciate your service, Wil!
Wil flight was witnessed by his proud daughter, Susan.
